A QUICK UPDATE

Yesterday I met with my oncologist to go over the results of the tests I had had on Tuesday. To put it succinctly, the news was what I expected but not what I wanted. Additional metastases have appeared in both lungs and a few of the others have grown in size. Swelling in the lymph nodes has appeared. The good news is that the bone scans were clear, except for some signs of arthritis. The belly and pelvic regions were okay. The game plan now is to embark on taking sutent for the next four weeks and then a two week break. Dr. Moretto will be monitoring me every two weeks. (Guess I will not be leaving town for long periods of time.)

Being keen to begin my treatment I rushed to the pharmacist with prescription in hand. They did not have it in stock. Unfortunately, given the expense of the drug the pharmacy nor others we contacted kept on the shelf. It must be specially ordered, hence my well intention plan to start immediately this weekend has been delayed until Monday or Tuesday. In the meantime I keep researching foods I need to incorporate in my diet, doing my exercises and developing my powers of meditation. I am a little weak on the latter but will persevere.
